Meet our Experienced Team of Lactation Consultants      

Shannon D. IBCLC

Shannon has four children of her own and experienced breastfeeding difficulties with each of them. She would never describe breastfeeding “like riding a bike” because the challenges with each child are varied. Shannon specializes in tongue-tie and lip-tie latching, positioning and latch techniques. As a Lactation Consultant, she feels that prenatal education and planning are crucial for new a moms success when breastfeeding.

Ocean B.RN, CNS, IBCLC

Ocean has been a Registered Nurse, Clinical Nurse Specialist and Lactation Consultant since 1998. She has worked in High Risk Obstetrics at San Francisco General Hospital and taught newborn parenting and breastfeeding classes throughout that time. Currently Ocean works as a Home Visiting Nurse with Nurse Family Partnership Program, teaches breastfeeding classes, infant & child CPR classes and performs Lactation Consultations and Doula services.

What is an IBCLC?

IBCLC stands for “International Board-Certified Lactation Consultants”, which are recognized throughout the world as possessing the highest form of standardized, board-certified, international lactation credential available. IBCLCs are medical professionals that specialize in breastfeeding management and care, and must go through extensive training and education to achieve their certification.

What happens in a video lactation consultation?

  • Feedback and suggestions
  • Time for additional questions and concerns
  • After the appointment you will receive a secure link to login and access your custom care plan created by your lactation consultant

What if my concerns can't be resolved through a video-based lactation consultation?

If DayOne Baby's IBCLC is unable to address your main breastfeeding concern because your concern requires a face-to-face appointment, you will be able to save your employer paid session for a follow-up appointment with our consultant. Please complete the form above to re-book!
